Google Docs - since I am a small subbranch this would greatly help with communicating ideas with the other branches - if only i had the hardware and connection to support it!!!

Wiki's - Yipee's

I Love the idea og the Wikis. I would love to have a wikis set up for our school reunion in Oct it would make it all so much easier.

I like the idea of a Murrumbateman Wiki or Blog site with book reviews and an open dialogue about the library....but would it be a lot of work for no return? Besides the fact that I am still on dial up and that makes using the computer a nightmare.

RSS - Another time waster?

Personally I like RSS, once it is set up and all the hard work is done. I would prefer not to spend too much time on the Internet at all....I don't have enough time to do what I have to do let what i want to do!! With various email accounts, bank accounts raadi raa there are already so many things to check regularly and keep an eye on. If this can be set up so everything is in the one place all the better

So much work time can be spent dawdling from site to site getting side tracked and wandering off task so overall i think that in the office this can be a good tool.

Being a Part-time Librarian Assistant, a Part-time Student but a FULL-TIME wife and mother of four I enjoy this site and value some of the information given.

It must be said also that 80% of my patrons are Mums that relish the chance to hold a real book in their hands that requires a reading age higher than 10 and they love the opportunity to talk about what is new and it doesn't always have to be hi-brow. This is a good site...http://www.mothersbeheard.com/bookreviews.htm.

Its late....the baby will be up for a feed soon. Best go clear the bed of tonights washing and crawl in for 20 mins sleep before the night goes crazy. D2 has already been up 3 times sleepwalking so its bound to be a bumpy night.

RSS - looks like fun......but will i really use all this once the training is over or will i revert back to my old ways?

I think I've got it

Flickr

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

Me again

So now I am to explore Flickr and add a photo....so here goes ( I have a $100 bet riding on this).
(20 mins of my life gone that I am never getting back)
Ok so I finish work in exactly 2 mins and i am yet to work it out so here is the link and I am now down $100.
hmmpf
Surely if a photo is there to be shared there ought to be an easier way of doing it!

First cab off the rank.

So here we are. The first blog. Hmmm, anything interesting to say??? Been up since 5am and my brain is fried so probably not.

I hope Husband remembered to pick up D1 (Daughter One) from gymnastics.

I have a lot of thoughts that pop into my head, not all of which deserve a public airing but that doesn't seem to stop a lot of other people so lets see.

I can hear the church bells ringing (are they really ringing or is it just inside my head?) Anyhow they sound lovely.

To make the blog relevant.....I just read The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. I am sure that I am not that dumb. It was a hard book to read. Very heavy with a trail of clues that I felt I should be following but I just couldn't. I am pleased that I finished it but only so I could say that I did.

I am now reading The Last Wife of Henry the Eighth by the author of The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette: A Novel: Carolly Erickson. I am enjoying it...a light but thoroughly good read.

Ok thats me done for now.....will there be more?
